Who am I?
I am a Partner in the Family Department, working alongside Susan Knight, Charlotte Youdan and Claire Parsons. I joined the firm in October 2011 as a Trainee Solicitor and remained with the firm on qualification in 2013, becoming an Associate in 2017. Prior to joining the firm, I spent ten years in the public sector.
What I do
I conduct a wide range of family work including divorce, financial settlements and private Children Act matters such as arrangements about where children should live, how much time they should spend with each parent and relocation cases. I also represent parents in care proceedings issued by the Local Authority. I take a pragmatic but sensitive approach to helping clients through what is an extremely difficult time and I understand that clients need to have clear advice about their options to enable them to resolve the issues that arise on relationship breakdown. I regularly conduct my own advocacy in the Family Court.
I studied at both the University of East Anglia and the Open University, achieving a First-class honours degree in Law. I then went on to study the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London, achieving a distinction.
I am a member of Resolution (First for Family Law).
I am accredited to the Law Society Children Panel.
The Coole Bevis LLP Family Department is ranked in the Legal 500.
This team is renowned for “punching above its weight”. ‘skilful, thorough and dedicated’ team provides advice that is ‘genuinely faultless’. Associate Helen Evennett is highlighted for her experience in children matters including care proceedings and has “an excellent rapport with clients”.
My hobbies and interests
Outside of work I enjoy seeing friends and family and reading. I am also a regular runner and having completed a number of half-marathons and a marathon, I am currently saying I don’t intend to run any more, but I have been known to say that before!
