Who am I?
I am an Associate in the Private Client Department.
What I do
I have been helping individuals and their families with their legal affairs for over 20 years. I can assist with a broad range of Private Client matters including :-
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Estate administration
- Inheritance Tax and Estate Planning
- Elderly client matters, including capacity issues and care fees advice
- Court of Protection (Deputyship, Gift Applications, Statutory Wills)
- Advice for Attorneys and Deputies
- Helping elderly or vulnerable clients with the management of their affairs
- Registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney
I am a member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). STEP members are internationally recognised as experts in their field with proven qualifications and experience.
I am also a member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) having had a particular interest in Elderly Client Law since taking on a caring role for an elderly relative living with dementia. SFE is a specialist group of lawyers who support and make a difference to older and vulnerable people.
In 2017 I co-founded the Sussex Care Professionals Forum which has provided an invaluable insight into the care sector and the issues faced by those who work in or depend on care services. It has also created a trusted network of contacts and service providers that can benefit and enrich the lives of my clients.
I also volunteer for the Alzheimer's Society "Dementia Friends" initiative as a Dementia Friends Champion and have joined the Dementia Friendly Community Forum / Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) in Brighton & Hove. The aim of the DAA is to create dementia friendly communities.
My hobbies and interests
I try to balance my love of all things food related with regular boxing and yoga classes. I love to travel and sample local cuisine and culture. I try to attend music festivals, comedy gigs and the theatre when I can and have recently discovered a love of painting after joining some local art classes.
