Although August is a month where children celebrate their school holidays and we can appreciate some British sunshine (with a bit of luck!)… it has been proven that during August there is an increased risk of road traffic accidents.
In fact, in the UK five people die every day on the roads. That is why August is also National Road Victim Month – a time when we can remember people that have been lost or injured on the road.
Statistics on reported road casualties in Great Britain for the year ending June 2018 shows there were (https://bit.ly/2AUAmGD):
This number has decreased since 2017, but the number of casualties is still extremely high. We urge you to be cautious, as after all, prevention is the best cure!
A new government working party is being set up to consider a no fault compensation scheme for minor road accidents. This would save time and costs if it is successfully implemented and if it provides proper compensation for those injured through no fault of their own.
At Coole Bevis LLP, our Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence department are committed to supporting those who have been affected by road traffic accidents. Whether a passenger or driver in a car, bus, bicycle or other means of transport you may be able to claim for damages and make a road traffic compensation claim.
