Subletting

Subletting, or underletting as it is often referred to, can be an effective way of managing your tenancy issues. An existing tenant of a commercial property should always consider whether it is best for them to sublet the property rather than assign (that is transfer) the lease to a third party.

If you desire to sublet the property to a third party, we are more than happy to help. We would review your existing lease to first establish that subletting is permitted (which isn’t always the case!). Provided that it is, we will assist your with preparing/negotiating the licence to sublet with your landlord, negotiating the drafting of the sublease with your tenant, and any ancillary documents such as rent deposit deeds as may be required.
